Six criteria, fixed before scoring
01Asks the assistants
A WordPress plugin can grade a page against a checklist without ever asking ChatGPT anything. What the assistants answer, and whom they name instead, is the measurement that says which page is missing. Full marks when it shows who was named instead on each question; half when it reports only whether the brand was named.
02What it can change in WordPress
Posts are one part of a WordPress site; titles, schema, robots.txt and llms.txt are another, and they need different access. Full marks when it can change both the pages a site already has and its titles and markup; half when it only adds new pages, or touches one of the two.
03Nothing goes live unseen
On a client's site the question is whether a person reads each change before visitors do. A change made by hand in the editor passes, and so does a queue. Full marks when that is the default; half when it is a setting you turn on.
04Taking a change back
WordPress keeps revisions of a post, but not of every field a tool changes, and a tool that has published thirty pages needs a way to take one back. Full marks when the tool itself takes one change back without deleting it; half when it can only delete, or WordPress's own revisions and backups have to do it.
05Re-asks afterwards
Answers drift on their own, so asking the same questions again after a change is the only way to tell whether it did anything. Full marks when the re-ask is tied to the change it checks; half when the same questions are simply asked again, on a schedule or by hand.
06Cost across ten sites
Agencies run WordPress sites by the dozen, and a per-site price that looks small at one is a different number at ten. Priced with what this page scores: full marks under $100 a month for ten sites, half up to $400, none above.
Points
Two for a full mark, one for a partial. The order is the total; a tie goes to the points on “Asks the assistants” and “Re-asks afterwards”, then the alphabet.

AIOSEO
$49.50 a year for one site, $199.50 for ten, $299.50 for 100 — first-year prices, renewing at $99, $399 and $599
The All in One SEO plugin, on more than two million WordPress sites, with an AI Suite: AI Insights asks five assistants about a query you type, and an AI writer works inside the editor.
Meets itAsks the assistants
AI Insights asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek and Perplexity a query you type and shows every brand named, its position on each engine, the full answers and the sources — who appeared in your place, query by query. One query a report, in beta; its pages disagree on whether the free version has it.
Meets itWhat it can change in WordPress
Titles and meta, schema, robots.txt and robots meta, llms.txt and redirects, all inside WordPress, and — once you confirm — a rewrite of a post's title, headline and body. AI agents reach the same fields through its MCP server.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
Every change is made or confirmed by a person in the editor, and generated content is reviewed before it goes in. Automatic internal links are a Pro feature you turn on.
Meets itTaking a change back
SEO Revisions keeps a history of a post's SEO fields with one-click restore — 15 on Plus, 30 on Pro, unlimited on Elite — and each AI rewrite can be reverted change by change.
PartlyRe-asks afterwards
Only when you run the query again: reports are on demand, and scheduled tracking is listed as coming.
Meets itCost across ten sites
Pro covers ten sites for $199.50 in the first year — under $17 a month — and $399 after; Elite covers 100 for $299.50, then $599.
Wins
- Changes anything in WordPress, keeps a history you can restore, and asks five assistants — from one plugin.
- Already on more than two million WordPress sites, with llms.txt and a robots.txt editor in the free version.
- About $20 a site a year at ten sites, in the first year.
Pick it for
A WordPress site, or a roster of them, where someone on your side will type the questions, read the answers and make the changes in the editor.

Foliora
$49.99 a site a month, or $149.99 for the weekly cycle; 20% less billed annually
A per-site loop that asks the buyer questions, drafts the change, waits for approval of the exact change, publishes it into WordPress and re-reads the live page.
Meets itAsks the assistants
A fixed panel of 25 buyer questions a site on ChatGPT and Gemini, with the sites cited instead of you on each.
Meets itWhat it can change in WordPress
Edits existing posts and pages, titles and descriptions, canonicals and redirects, drafts Article, breadcrumb and FAQ markup, and publishes new pages you sign off. Not llms.txt, theme files or plugins; how it signs in to WordPress is not published.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
Every change — a new page or a redirect — waits for approval of the exact edit, on both plans, with no switch to publish without it. A page edited since the proposal is marked stale rather than overwritten.
Meets itTaking a change back
It keeps each page's before-state, and a person can roll an applied change back from the dashboard.
Meets itRe-asks afterwards
It re-reads the live page as soon as a change publishes, and asks the questions again on the next cycle — monthly, or weekly on the $149.99 plan.
Misses itCost across ten sites
Priced per site with no agency rate: ten sites are $499.90 a month, and white-label reporting is not sold.
Wins
- Edits the pages a site already has, not only new ones, and checks the live page straight after.
- Approval of the exact change, always, with the before-state kept for a rollback.
- Publishes into Shopify, Webflow and GitHub as well, for a roster that is not all WordPress.
Pick it for
One WordPress site that matters, where the fix is usually an edit to a page that already exists and you want it published and checked this week.

Rank Prompt
$149 a month for Agency, $119.17 billed annually, for 1,000 credits
An answer-engine tracker that writes articles and publishes them into WordPress, signing in with an application password or a one-click approval inside WordPress.
Meets itAsks the assistants
Six engines on every plan, with a “Prompts they win” tab naming who was named instead on each prompt.
PartlyWhat it can change in WordPress
New articles as WordPress posts with the SEO plugin's fields filled, and a linking sentence added to related posts. Fixes to llms.txt, schema and meta go to a GitHub pull request or a task, not into WordPress.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
An article waits as “Needs review” until someone publishes it, or lands as a WordPress draft; Autopilot, if you switch it on, publishes after a review window.
Meets itTaking a change back
Saving a live article as a draft takes the post off the site, and publishing again updates the same post.
Meets itRe-asks afterwards
Scheduled re-runs, and an “AI impact” column comparing each article's citations before and after it went live.
PartlyCost across ten sites
$149 a month for one plan's 1,000 credits: ten sites asking 30 questions on three engines twice a month use 600 by its help center's rule, which leaves 40 articles.
Wins
- Six engines and scheduled tracking, with each article's citations compared before and after it went live.
- Publishes to WordPress and seven other kinds of destination, according to its help center.
- A client portal, white-label reports and an API on the same plan.
Pick it for
An agency with a WordPress roster that wants tracking on a schedule and articles published from one account, and is happy to run a credit balance.

Passcite
This is usWe publish new pages and hand every other change to the site owner. Use us for the questions each client site loses and the pages that answer them.
$0 / $49 / $199 / $299 / $499 a month, for 1 / 2 / 10 / 16 / 28 client sites
A report that asks 30 buyer questions on a paid plan (12 free) across three engines per client site, drafts the pages that are missing, and publishes the new ones into WordPress once you approve them.
Meets itAsks the assistants
30 buyer questions on a paid plan, 12 free, on ChatGPT (API), Claude and Gemini, each recorded with who was named instead and the page of theirs that was cited.
PartlyWhat it can change in WordPress
New pages only: an approved page goes up as a post through an application password you create, on a self-hosted site or WordPress.com on its Business plan. Edits to existing pages, titles, structured data, robots.txt and llms.txt go to the site owner on a link with no login, with the block to paste.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
Every draft waits in the approval queue on every paid plan, approved or turned down one at a time or in ticked batches. Publishing new pages without review is a switch, off until you turn it on.
Meets itTaking a change back
One click puts a published page back to a WordPress draft, never deleted; approving it again puts the same post back up.
PartlyRe-asks afterwards
A re-run asks the same questions and shows which the client won or lost since the last report, and Search Console says whether each page we published is indexed. The re-test a publish triggers is being built.
PartlyCost across ten sites
$199 a month for 10 client sites, flat — no credits and no per-article price.
Wins
- 30 buyer questions per client site, generated from the site, so nobody has to type them.
- Drafts the pages a report finds missing, not only the ones you ask for.
- No plugin to install, and an application password you can revoke at any time.
Loses
- What it can change: AIOSEO, Rank Math and Yoast run inside WordPress and edit titles, schema, robots.txt and llms.txt, and Foliora edits the pages a site already has. We publish new pages and hand the rest to the site owner.
- Checking afterwards: Foliora re-reads the live page as soon as a change publishes, and Rank Prompt and Scout LLM tie each re-ask to the change it checks. We re-ask by hand.
- Price: AIOSEO covers ten sites for $199.50 a year in its first year and Rank Math for under €40 a month, AI tracking included; we charge $199 a month.
Pick it for
An agency with WordPress client sites that wants the questions asked and the missing pages drafted for it, with each new page approved before it goes up.

Rank Math
PRO €6.99 a month for your own sites, Business €22.99 for 100 client sites, and AI Visibility from €4.99 more — billed annually, offer prices that renew higher
The WordPress SEO plugin on more than four million sites, with AI Visibility, a separate subscription that tracks what ChatGPT and Gemini say about a brand.
PartlyAsks the assistants
AI Visibility asks ChatGPT or Gemini — both only on its top plan — prompts generated from your brand description, and surfaces the competitors named alongside or instead of you. It lists the prompts where you were mentioned, not who won the ones you lost.
Meets itWhat it can change in WordPress
Titles and meta, schema, sitemaps, robots.txt, llms.txt and .htaccess from inside WordPress; a Blog Post Wizard that puts a drafted article into a new post for you to publish; MCP tools for your own AI assistant.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
A person makes or publishes every change by default. Automatic internal links are a feature you turn on, and an assistant connected over MCP writes what you ask it to.
PartlyTaking a change back
Timestamped settings backups you restore in one click, and a rollback for its bulk link changes; no history of a post's SEO fields.
PartlyRe-asks afterwards
AI Visibility asks the same prompts again weekly or monthly, daily on its top plan, without tying a run to a change.
Meets itCost across ten sites
Business covers 100 client sites for €22.99 a month billed annually, renewing at €27.99, and AI Visibility for ten brands is €9.99 more — under $100 a month either way. Prices were shown to us in euros.
Wins
- The cheapest AI tracking here — ten brands for €9.99 a month — inside a plugin on more than four million sites.
- llms.txt and a robots.txt editor in the free version.
Pick it for
A roster of WordPress sites already on Rank Math that wants to see whether ChatGPT or Gemini mentions each brand, for very little.

Scout LLM
A$149 / A$449 / A$1,299 a month — Starter, Professional and Agency, the plan ten clients need
An answer-engine tracker that asks four engines your prompts daily and drafts the page a lost prompt needs into WordPress, without ever publishing it.
Meets itAsks the assistants
Daily, on four engines you pick from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overview and AI Mode — Claude costs extra — with the competitor named on each prompt where you were not.
PartlyWhat it can change in WordPress
New-page drafts — an answer-first article with a decision table and its JSON-LD — sent into WordPress as drafts with your own token. It does not edit pages that already exist.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
It only ever creates drafts: nothing goes live until you publish it in WordPress, on every plan.
PartlyTaking a change back
Nothing of its own to take back, since it never publishes; a page you published is taken down in WordPress.
Meets itRe-asks afterwards
The next tracking run after you publish asks the prompt again, and marks the fix recovered when the engine cites you.
Misses itCost across ten sites
Prompts are pooled per workspace, and ten client brands with white label need the Agency plan at A$1,299 a month — above $400 at any recent exchange rate.
Wins
- Ties each drafted fix to the prompt it was written for, and tells you when the engine starts citing you.
- Drafts only, so nothing reaches a site until a person publishes it.
- Tracks by country or by city.
Pick it for
An agency that wants daily tracking and drafted pages, publishes them itself, and has the budget for the agency plan.

Yoast SEO
Premium $118.80 a year a site; AI+, with AI Brand Insights, $358.80 a year a brand; bulk discounts from five sites
The WordPress SEO plugin on more than ten million sites, with AI Brand Insights — a weekly read of what four assistants say about a brand — in its AI+ plan.
PartlyAsks the assistants
AI Brand Insights, in the AI+ plan, asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude up to five questions a brand and shows whether you were found and how often the competitors you picked were mentioned. It does not say who won each question.
Meets itWhat it can change in WordPress
Schema, llms.txt and sitemaps automatically, robots.txt and .htaccess in its file editor, titles and descriptions per post or in bulk, AI-written suggestions in Premium, and AI tools that can edit SEO fields through its Abilities.
Meets itNothing goes live unseen
Every change is made in the editor, and an AI suggestion is saved only once you accept it. Nothing writes or publishes a post by itself.
PartlyTaking a change back
WordPress keeps revisions of a post; Yoast describes no history of its own settings or SEO fields.
PartlyRe-asks afterwards
Brand Insights asks the same five questions again once a week, without tying a run to a change.
PartlyCost across ten sites
AI+, which carries Brand Insights, is $358.80 a year for each brand — about $300 a month for ten before any bulk discount. Premium alone for ten sites is $1,009.80 a year.
Wins
- Four assistants in Brand Insights, Claude included, with the sources each one cited.
- On more than ten million WordPress sites, with llms.txt generated free.
Pick it for
A site already on Yoast Premium that wants a weekly read of five questions on four assistants, without another tool.

overrank
From $29 a client seat, five seats minimum; $39 a month for a single site, $25 billed annually
A content engine that publishes up to an article a day into each client's WordPress through its own plugin, on its own by default.
Misses itAsks the assistants
It asks no assistant: its visibility tracker builds each answer from live Google results.
PartlyWhat it can change in WordPress
New articles as WordPress posts through its plugin, with titles, schema and internal links for its own articles. It does not edit pages that already exist.
PartlyNothing goes live unseen
A per-client Auto-publish switch: left on — their default — it publishes by itself; turned off, each draft waits for “Publish now” or “Skip”.
PartlyTaking a change back
A live article can be deleted from the site, and the plugin removes the post; there is no way back to a draft.
UnconfirmedRe-asks afterwards
Its pages do not say whether or when the tracker asks the same questions again; the monthly report counts articles, keywords and clicks.
PartlyCost across ten sites
$245 a month for ten seats at its published $24.50; above five seats the rate is arranged with them.
Wins
- Articles published every day with nothing to do after setup.
- Its plugin pulls posts on a schedule, so it never needs a WordPress password.
- Fully unbranded, with a monthly report in your colours.
Pick it for
An agency reselling content volume on WordPress, where the deliverable is a post count.

Its pricing table offers publishing to WordPress and Ghost, and its docs say it never touches your site. We could not tell which is current, so it is not scored on a page about changing a WordPress site.
Checked 1 Oct 2026
ChatSEO
An SEO agent built on Search Console that writes into WordPress one approval at a time, but nothing we read on chatseo.app says it reads any AI answer. overrank, the one tool ranked here that asks no assistant, at least counts mentions in AI Overviews and Gemini.

SEOPress
A WordPress SEO plugin with llms.txt and AI-written metadata, $149 a year for unlimited sites, but no tracking of what assistants answer that we could find.

Lantern
Its pricing sells autonomous publishing and its docs describe an approval boundary; we could not tell which is the default, so it is not scored.

About this ranking
- Why is a plugin first?
- Because it meets the most of the criteria: AIOSEO asks five assistants, changes anything in WordPress, keeps a history you can restore, and covers ten sites for about what we charge in a month. What it does not do is decide what to ask or write the pages — someone types each query and makes the change in the editor. That is the work the next three charge for.
- How is the order worked out?
- From the points in the last row of the table: two for a full mark, one for a partial, nothing otherwise. A tie goes to the tool with more points on asking and re-asking, then to the alphabet. The criteria and this rule were set before any tool was scored.
- Do I need a plugin and one of the others?
- Most WordPress sites already run one of these plugins, and nothing here replaces it: the plugin looks after titles, schema and the files, and the others ask the questions and draft the pages. A page we publish is an ordinary post, so your plugin handles it like any other.
- What does Passcite need from a WordPress site?
- An application password you create in WordPress — on a self-hosted site, or WordPress.com on its Business plan — and can revoke at any time. No plugin is needed. Without the password, the approved page goes to the site owner on a link with no login, with the words to paste.
- WordPress and AI searchWhere each fix lives on a WordPress site, which ones we publish for you, and what we need from WordPress to do it.
- One-to-one comparisonsSemrush, Ahrefs, Surfer SEO, Foliora, overrank and Rank Prompt, one at a time, with where each is stronger first.
- Best AI visibility tools that publish the fixSix criteria, five tools that write changes into a site — and the one place each stops. We are last on this list and the page says why.
- Best white-label AI search tools for agenciesWhat one more client costs, whose name is on the report, and whether anyone approves a change before it reaches a client's site. Ours carries your name; there are no client logins.
See who the engines recommend instead
12 buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. You get the questions your client loses, who won them, and what is missing from the site. No score.
