The theme decides whether your answer is in the HTML
Most WordPress themes render on the server, which is the good case: everything an engine needs is in the first response. The exception is a page built entirely inside a block builder that loads its content over AJAX, or a headless setup where the front end is a JavaScript app. Open the page, view source, and search for a sentence you can see on screen. If it is not in the source, the engine did not read it either.

Find out what is being served at /robots.txt
A virtual robots.txt and a real file behave differently, and a plugin that thinks it owns the file will not show you rules written by something else.

Check the AI crawlers separately from Googlebot
GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended are their own user agents. A site can rank on Google and still be blocked from every answer engine.

A comparison page linked only from the sitemap gets read late. Link it from the page it is about.
